Lemons of Love, Inc., is moving its headquarters to 406 N. Central in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. We envision having a designated beauty and spa area so local hairdressers, massage therapists, or makeup artists can volunteer their time to pamper a patient for the day and to allow a private space for chemo head shavings. This building will have a project room where local groups and volunteer organizations can help us fill bags, take on a project donation, or create happy pictures for our packages.
The new Lemons of Love headquarters will have a space for cancer support groups for those going through chemo, as well as groups for caregivers and loved ones. It will be a place for our Lemons of Love board meetings to be held and an event-planning space for our fundraisers. We are VERY grateful for the help of Keeley Construction through this journey as they help us with the remodel! Our overall goal for this building is to provide the community with a place to get involved and where Lemons of Love can continue to grow and bring comfort and joy to cancer patients.
We want to have meetings for the following (but not limited to) Cancer Fighters, Cancer Survivors, Care Givers, Grief Support, Meditation, Nutrition, Book Clubs, Etc.
Calling all Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Indian Princesses, Indian Guides, Youth Groups, Church Groups, Corporate Team Building or any other volunteers. We will have a space to make gifts to go into Lemons of Love packages as well as a space for our fundraisers to fill the packages they have collected items and $ to build.
This will be a serene space for private head shavings (say goodbye to the hair parties), make up applications (for special events) for those currently in cancer treatment. We will have a salon chair, salon sink and make up table. We are in need of hairdressers and estheticians, make up artists to come work their magic to help make a patients day!
This building will be dedicated to "Making Cancer Suck Less" in a way that brings only good to the cancer community.
