Lemons of Love had the perfect autumn day for our 'first ever' Pink Lemonade 5K, 75 degrees and sunny! Many came out to run, walk or support the event. We raised over $10,000 with great sponsors and participants! Our fabulous donors came out with food, snacks, fruits and drinks. We had an art table where children drew "happy pictures" to include in our care packages.
Big thanks go out to the people who made this event a superb celebration of what Lemons of Love does for those going through chemotherapy. Thank you to our planning committee, volunteers, sponsors, companies who donated anonymously, participants, bikers (who dressed up their rides) the protected the runners at intersections, those who came out to cheer us on, District 214 Wildstang Robotics team, Prospect High School Girls Cross Country Team, our local Boy Scouts, the Mount Prospect Police Department, Mount Prospect Park District, Mount Prospect Public Works, Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce, and also to the woman who let someone into her home to use the restroom during the race. What a glorious day we had and I can't wait to do it again on October 9, 2016!
