Lemons Of Love Stories

I loved my Lemons of Love bag! Thank you for your ministry.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I want to tell my story. In January, after a routine mammogram which lead to a diagnostic mammogram, ultrasound and needle biopsy (~1.5 years after my last mammo), I was told I had stage 0 DCIS.

To be perfectly honest, I didn’t know stage 0 existed (it wasn’t on the clinic room poster). Treatment plan was lumpectomy with radiation. Due to my dense breasts, my doc wanted an MRI before surgery. I received a call to inform me the area was bigger than originally thought and it was “active, very active”. Treatment plan changed to a mastectomy with radiation.

Surgery took place in April, but diagnosis and treatment changed again after on lymph node tested positive and pathology revealed 3 tumors undetected by diagnostic testing. Chemotherapy started immediately and finally ended in Sept. I have additional treatment and surgeries in my future, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I loved my Lemons of Love bag!  Thank you for your ministry.
